Nim, born in Colombo, Sri Lanka to a humble background with a Catholic father and a Hindu mother, made a pivotal decision to migrate to Australia at 30. At the age of 17, he fled political persecution in Sri Lanka, seeking refuge in India, where he chose the path of non-violence and love over conflict. Nim's mother's sacrifices enabled him to attain a quality education, including transitioning from Tamil to English instruction in India. As a lawyer, he has actively engaged with nonprofit and for-profit organisations, advocating social entrepreneurship, faith, culture, and mental health. Despite personal challenges, amongst others, a failed marriage and homelessness, Nim's faith and dedication to service led to the establishment of a charity supporting the performing and creative arts. Today, Nim is committed to translating his life experiences into meaningful legislative action for the betterment of society.
